  • Archaic / Classical Years

    Doliche, along with Azoros and Pythium,constituted the Perrhaebian Tripolis.

  • Roman Period

    A manumission inscription: ‘Polis of the Dolichaians'(discovered in Kastri in 2006).

  • 5th – 6th Century A

    Three Early Christian basilicas and the area of theacropolis in Kastri (discovered in 2001-2003).

  • 9th – 12th Century AD

    The three-aisled Church of the Transfiguration
    (Metamorphosis) was erected.
